On-tour throughout the South Island
Travelling around the South Island, you will deliver science based shows and exhibits to school aged audiences as part of the Science Roadshow. You will be part of a small team involved in the day to day delivery, maintenance and administration of this valued science programme to schools. Duties include giving verbal presentations (with the aid of props) to groups of students ranging in size from 30 to 200 at a time. Age wise the students can be from Yr1 to Yr10, with most being Yr 5-8.
Good people skills, great oral presentation skills, an ability to work under pressure, a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude. Other useful skills could include: Experience in teaching; a tertiary science based qualification, theatre work, Te Reo Maori, class 3 Drivers licence.
Touring the South Island. When away from home, all meals, accommodation (shared motel unit) and travel will be paid for by the Roadshow. This position involves considerable time away from home. Typically staff are rostered 4 weeks on, 1 week off.

A police check is mandatory, as is holding a Class 1 (car) full manual licence. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
Commencement Date — 27 October 2020 or before by negotiation.
Finish Date — 4 December 2020 with the opportunity to recommence in February as part of our 2021 programme.
$46-$52k per annum (depending on experience) + meals, accommodation and travel.
